Summer Camp 2026
Sessions + dates:
PLEASE NOTE: Two-week sessions require that you enroll your child in both weeks of the camp! Thank you!
OPERATION: Installation: A journey through time - (June 1 - 5)
For the first session of summer camp, we’ll collaborate to reshape one of the common space areas on our campus into a journey through time. Each age group will be assigned a different place in time to work on together. Under the guidance of our staff, they’ll create scenery and decorations for a full-blown art installation that transforms our space into an interactive experience, which families will be invited to explore at the end of the week. Think “Museum of Natural History” meets “Meow Wolf.” From the Mesozoic Era to flying cars of the future, who knows what our creative minds will dream up to redesign our shared space!
OPERATION: Determination - (June 8 - 12 & June 15 - 18)
PLEASE NOTE: SPILLED MILK WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY, JUNE 19 IN OBSERVANCE OF JUNETEENTH.
No summer is complete without the annual smsc Summer Olympics. Quarts and Gallons will collectively form teams to represent different countries. Each country will compete in all types of events– physical, mental, creative, and just plain silly! Competitors will be able to demonstrate their skills at everything from running and jumping rope to donut pong and debate!
Cups and Pints will represent the host countries for our Olympic Games. They’ll learn all about their countries’ culture, food and traditions, as well as prepare a performance for the closing ceremonies. They will be invited to participate in some camp-wide Olympic events, in addition to some fun competitions amongst their own groups. Let the games begin and may the odds be ever in your favor!
OPERATION: Puppet Creation - (June 22 - 26)
Quick- can you name every type of puppet that exists in the world? There are SO MANY (I know because I just looked it up) and we’re going to spend this week making as many as we can! The Cups and Pints will focus on crowd favorites like finger and sock puppets, and they’ll get a crash course in how shadow puppets work! Our older campers, the Quarts and Gallons will learn about and try their hand at more intricate designs, like marionettes and giant puppets that require more than one person to operate. We’ll host professional puppetmakers during this session to show off and perform with their works of art, as well. At the end of the week, we’ll put on a big puppet show in the Community Room with all of our groups, where the campers can stage skits they’ve created with the puppets they’ve made.
We cannot be held responsible if, once camp is over, your child hides their puppet in a random cabinet for you to find and get a good jump scare.
OPERATION: Hydration - (June 29 - July 3)
What’s a Texas summer camp without a good bit of splashing? During this midsummer session, everything we do will include water! Field trips to pools and other bodies of water, wet games and projects, mini-water park designs, cold drinks, synchronized swimming, big wave surfing, whale rides OKAY FINE NOT ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING but we promise a ton of refreshing fun. To top off an adequately-soaked week, we’ll invite campers to compete and cheer their friends on during our first annual “Saturation Games,” with loads of water-themed competitions. Bring your favorite swimsuit and towel!
July 6 - 10, 2026 -- SPILLED MILK IS CLOSED
OPERATION: Presentation! - (July 13 - 17 & July 20 - 24)
We are SO excited to announce that during this two-week session, our Gallons and Quarts will produce the musical stage play, Bull Shark And The Magic Lunchroom! Your talented kiddos will rehearse lines, paint sets, make props, learn songs that will be performed with a live band, and channel the spirit of past productions we’ve put on. It’s a whole thing and you DON’T want to miss it! (Please scroll to the bottom of the page for a lil history and more details about auditions and performance dates!)
While our older campers get ready for the stage, our Cups and Pints will get busy preparing their debut (on the big screen) by filming commercials for some very special brands that are part of the show. As an additional way to stay connected to the performance, our younger campers will help make merch and concessions to ensure that our audience members have the best viewing experience possible!
OPERATION: Microminiaturization (July 27 - 31)
After two full weeks of doing something really BIG, we’re gonna shift gears and do something small. Very small. Microminiature, even (<-- why, yes! We totally co-opted that word and we like it!) During this session, campers will utilize their finest motor skills to make little cities complete with tiny happy trees and mini-versions of themselves. We’ll also get crafty with paper doll making (using photos of the campers- weeeeeeee!) And back by popular demand, we’ll keep ourselves busy with a teeny-tiny scavenger hunt for miniature items hidden all over spilled milk. We feel confident that this session is going to be even more incredible than last year, but we’ll try not to get a big head about it (although our normal-sized head DOES look pretty big in comparison to all the miniatures…)
OPERATION: Investigation (August 3 - 7)
[Sultry jazz music fades in] It was early August on the sweltering streets of spilled milk, and the oppressive heat was making the typical spirit of summer camp harder to come by than usual. Something was off; something was missing but the campers couldn’t quite put their finger on it. So they put their heat-riddled minds together to get to the bottom of the mystery…
In this year’s iteration of our popular “Investigation” session, campers will come together to solve the case, noir style. So grab your fedoras, trench coats, pencil skirts and detective note pads and meet us in the dark alley behind the playground to find the wiseguys makin’ trouble around these streets, see.
OPERATION: Relaxation (August 10 - 14)
With so much “back to school” preparation happening for families AND smsc staff/directors, we want to make sure our last week of camp is a time for maxing-relaxing. We’ll still go on outings, host our ever-so-popular “Milk and Milk” Spa, and offer fun crafts that kids love (think slime-making, shrinky dinks, etc.) but mostly we’ll be curling up with a good book and taking naps all day HAHAHA WE WISH! In all seriousness, we look forward to this final week of summer camp 2026. BYO chaise lounge.

A little history- In the summers of 2014, 2016 and 2018, we produced and staged Adam and the Bull Shark, an original story turned into a full-blown musical, written by one of our co-executive directors, Stella Maxwell-Putman. If you’re lucky, you’ve heard stories about how incredible those productions were; so many kids we’ve known had their first theater experiences at spilled milk, and it’s MAGICAL to help young folks build confidence and bloom as performers. We can’t wait to do it all again with a new story, starring our misunderstood hero, the Bull Shark with several friends, old and new.
PLEASE NOTE: For Quarts and Gallons, please consider enrolling in this session if your child is willing to perform (this can span from a leading role with solo singing and lots of lines, to a small role in a group with no speaking lines- we have room for everyone!) If you know your child won’t get on stage but they still want to be a part of this camp, please email stella@spilledmilksocialclub.com BEFORE registration opens, so we can chat about the possibilities.
AUDITIONS: Auditions for speaking/singing roles will happen on Saturday, May 2nd, 1- 4p, here at our facility. We encourage all Quarts and Gallons to attend, especially if they’re unsure about their capacity for performing. If your child can’t make the audition date but wants to perform, email Stella!
PERFORMANCES: There will be two performances: one during the day, and another in the evening, both on Friday, July 24th.goes here
